I was in a bit of a rush getting ready for tennis this morning so I grabbed my shoes, ran outside and started putting them on. I got the first one on fine and started on the second. However, it proved problematic. The laces were tied in a ridiculous amount of knots. I set about untying them while thinking to myself "Why did I put so many knots in this shoe?". Eventually I untied them all and went to put the shoe on. I then found the answer to my question. I hadn't put all the knots in the shoe, my sister had. It was her shoe.
So, the team I play for is a little club that's roughly 7 blocks from my house. The team I played against is a big club that's roughly a block and a half from my house. I always find it uncomfortable playing this team because I know so many of the people there. Today, for instance, the team I played was made up of my neighbour, some people I used to go to school with and the sibling of someone I used to go to school with. Usually though, these people don't have a clue who I am, or if they do they don't mention it. Today however was different. As we were about to start the doubles one of the girls goes to me "You look really familiar." to which I replied "Yeah, I've been in your brother's class a few times, and I went to Scouts briefly." "Scouts? My dad thought you looked like someone from Scouts. Hey do you have a little sister?" "Yeah, Alison." "I know her. Hey is your MSN something like andie underscore skates?" "Yeah, how did you know that?" "Mine used to be surfchic something." That was an interesting little exchange.
Also, I hate having to umpire myself. I kept forgetting what the score was. My opponent kept forgetting what the score was. My partner kept forgetting what the score was. We all kept getting confused on what the score was. We all kept getting confused about where the ball landed. Et cetera. I really am sure that I would have done much better than 5-8 and 3-6 had I had an actual umpire. Or at least somebody keeping score.

Ahaha... I don't like keeping score myself.. but during school matches you are required to keep score yourself.. what... a... drag.
